Our Eco-code and Environment
Equally important to health living is the environment we live in. Our Pupil Council meets together regularly and tries to improve the school's work caring for the environment.
In previous years, the Pupil Council launched a school Eco-code and helped introduce composting in the school which was successfully run by the "Little Rotters" in Primary 5.
The school's efforts were rewarded with the achievement of a Silver Eco Schools award. The next target is to achieve a Green Flag in the near future. To help us work towards this we now have a pupil Eco Committee with representatives from each class as listed below.
Eco-code
The school Eco-code was launched in 2006 by our pupils council:
- Tidy school grounds are really cool grounds
- Choose the school walk, not the school run
- Don't just toss it – we can compost it
- Be a cutie, remember to eat your fruity
- Energy is cool – if you waste it you are a fool
Our Eco Committee
All our children are involved in caring for the environment and we have set up an Eco Committee to discuss ideas and plans for future activities. Children throughout the school with any ideas, concerns or topics about our school environment can speak with their class representative on the Eco Committee.
The Eco Committee is led by Miss Mackenzie (PT)
